Welcome to my first blog income report for October 2023. This post will show you how I made money online this month. So if you’ve ever wondered if you could make money online, here’s confirmation that you can. Let’s get right into it!

If you are new here, hello, my name is Nicki, I’m a lifestyle blogger based in Atlanta. I share affordable outfit ideas, styling tips, and life as a millennial on a budget. I’ve been blogging since May 2023, and I love it! I use blogging as a creative outlet to share my thoughts, experiences, perspectives, and insights on various topics such as fashion, personal finance, lifestyle and more. I also use it to share recommendations of items I have used and love and if anyone decides to use my links to purchase an item, I get a small commission.

How I Made $259.76 in October 2023 My Blog Income Report Breakdown

I started this blog as a resource for women who love sneakers to get outfit ideas and styling tips but who also wanted to make sure their finances were in order. I usually share my income report on YouTube and TikTok from what I make from my job, but I wanted to add my online income as well. Hopefully, this post will serve as an inspiration to start a side hustle to help you pay down your debt, build your emergency fund, save for a home, or just have a little extra money in your pocket to be able to afford something nice for yourself at the end of the month. Because that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Income Sources

1. Social Media

My social media platforms include Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. I only received income from 2 of them; Facebook and TikTok.

  • TikTok Creativity Program – $2.57
  • Facebook Ads on Reels- $0.02

2. YouTube Google Adsense

Once you meet the YouTube threshold of 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours, you can apply to be a part of the YouTube Partner Program. I joined the YPP in October 2022. This month I uploaded 5 videos and 6 shorts.

  • Google Adsense – $4.63

3. Affiliate Marketing

I affiliate with a lot of different brands, companies, and networks. I’m only listing those that I actually made money from. But you can basically apply to become an affiliate for any company that you love and want to recommend to others. Normally, there’s a link at the end of their website to become an affiliate. You just click and apply.

  • LTK – $89.59
  • Amazon – $84.54
  • TikTok (affiliate shop) – $5

4. Digital Products

There’s nothing like having your own products and/or services. When all else fail, you can sell and make money from the things you own. I have a budget workbook that I use to manage my finances that I sell on my Stan Store. I create videos on TikTok and YouTube of me using my budget workbook and when someone asks about it, I can send them my link. If I’m being honest, this month, I wasn’t focused on selling my budget workbook. I’m actually creating a physical copy since I see that TikTok is pushing the TikTok shop. Also, I’ve been spending a lot of time learning SEO for my blog and how I can get more traffic to it. Thus, what I made from my digital product is lower than what I usually receive.

Blog Expenses

I try to keep my blogging expenses very low since I’m not making much money from it and I’m still learning the ins and the outs. I create a monthly budget so that I will know when each one of the tools I use is due and have enough money to cover it. The paid tools that I do use, and love are:

Traffic Source

I use the free MonsterInsights as my source for traffic along with Google console and Google Analytics. My top 5 referral were Stan Store, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.

  • Page views – 290 which is up 140% since last month.
  • Sessions – 174 Up a 136% since last month.
  • Users – 147 Up a 145% since last month.

Total

For the month of October, I made 238.40 minus all of my expenses for the month. With that, I can pay off one of my credit card balances and still have money left over. For you, that could be groceries for the week, gas for the month, or just a little bit of money in your pockets for the month.

Goals for November 2023

  • Create 3 pins per blog post
  • Post 2 to 3 blog post per week
  • Post 2 YouTube videos per week
  • 500 page views
  • 400 sessions
  • Sign up for ads network
  • $500 monthly income
